| I took a regular-sized wall-hanging pattern and reduced it by three fourths, meaning that each block is now merely 1 1/2 inches square. Only about 9 x 11 1/2 inches in size, this quilt contains over 210 pieces!
Quilting is free-hand machine stitched in loops with hearts placed in the centers of the open white spaces.Price: $35.00 |

For Sale Quilts

My "For Sale" Quilts
- These
are quilts I made on a whim, because I wanted to try something
different, needed a sample for a class, or saw fabric or patterns that
"spoke" to me ("Make something, make something!"). They are made of all new materials,
with the exception that the shirts used in the shirt quilts are yard
sale/thrift store finds.
- I use
only 100% cotton fabrics usually in the “medium” price range. Cotton quilting fabrics can range in price
from $1.00 on sale to well over $16 a yard. Most of my fabrics fall into the
$2.99-$6.99 range – with whites and off-whites being the least expensive.
- The more pieces in a quilt, the
longer it takes to cut and sew together, and therefore, the more
expensive it becomes. My quilts are all pieced, not merely made
to look pieced. Additionally, all shirt quilts require a stabilizer so
they will not warp or stretch while sewing and quilting take place.
- Quilts
are machine or long-arm quilted to provide strength and durability.
- I use
a double fabric binding technique to provide an extra measure of durability
on the edges of the quilt, which are the areas that receive the most
wear. For
durability, one side of the binding is secured by machine, but the
other side is either machine or hand stitched, depending on my mood and
time constraints.
- If
you see a quilt you are interested in, email me and I'll be happy to
supply you with better-quality photos of both the front and back of a
quilt.
