 Graduation Quilt Minimize
Sherry and I worked together on this one, too. It has both tee-shirts and photos in it and was a gift for a graduate in our church.

I used the boot pattern from Fons & Porter's Boot Scootin' Boogie, along with the Irish Chain pattern; then, enlarged the boots for the back of the quilt.

Custom Quilts

Need a special quilt?   Take a look at some of the ones I’ve designed and/or made and email me with your request.  I specialize in themed “scrap” quilts, tee shirt and memory quilts, and baby quilts.   I make all my sale quilts - start to finish, in my home.

Tee-Shirt Quilts

This is the perfect solution for using AND preserving those special tee and sweat shirts.  Especially fun for me to make, these quilts take your shirts and turn them into mementos – perfect for commemorating a graduation, vacation, or special event.  They make great gifts.

Photo Memory Quilts

Similar to tee-shirt quilts.  I’ll take your edited, high-definition digital pictures and put together a very special quilt for a very special someone.

My Quilts

  1. I use only 100% cotton fabrics usually in the “medium” price range.  Cotton quilting fabrics can range in price from $1.00 (on sale) to well over $16 a yard.  Most of my fabrics fall into the $2.99-$6.99 range – with whites and off-whites being the least expensive.
  2. I prefer to use good quality cotton or polyester/cotton batting, such as Warm ’N Natural, Mountain Mist or Hobbs in my custom quilts.  I'll often put polyester batting in shirt quilts.
  3. The more pieces in a quilt, the longer it takes to cut and sew together, and therefore, the more expensive it becomes.
  4. Quilts with a multiplicity of fabrics are much more interesting to the eye, but do require extra cutting and coordination of fabrics, and more trips to the fabric store (Oh, no…..!).  Consequently, they cost more.
  5. Quilts are machine or long-arm quilted to provide strength and durability.
  6. Themed “scrap” quilts are my specialty!  Having a definite color scheme, yet containing many different hues and shades of that color or colors, ensures the quilt will match décor, provides a much more interesting quilt, and enhances the charm of the quilt.
  7. I use a double fabric binding technique to provide an extra measure of durability on the edges of the quilt, which are the areas that receive the most wear.  For durability, one side of the binding is secured by machine, but the other side is either machine or hand stitched.

 Sutton's quilt Minimize
This was a farewell gift. I designed and pieced the center using a photo of our church as a guide, and Sherry Dewey quilted it.

Vince's Toons Quilt

Made from old sweat shirts, this is the perfect throw for the den or a child's room... but, this one belongs to my husband!

 Large Log Cabin Quilt Minimize
King-sized quilt for my mom and dad. This quilt has over 100 different fabrics in it.
